Introduction - Fluvial landforms, no matter where they are found share common characteristics in that they are created, shaped and altered by processes of erosion, transportation and deposition. Differences do surface however when we consider to what extent they can be independently linked to one or more of these processes. Can a fluvial feature every truly be the result of one fluvial processes or are there more intricate and interlinking processes at work? This essay seeks to discuss to what extent landforms can be classified as either erosional or depositional and will use case study examples throughout.
